Creative Practices for Nervous System Regulation, Insight, and Integration
*Somatic Art is not therapy. It is a coaching modality. We focus on your present life and future, rather than delving into past experiences. We may need to touch on the past briefly, but to find resources to bring into the future. Not to unpack what happened.
Somatic Art
Somatic art is the intersection of:
- body awareness
- intuitive creativity
- emotional processing
- reflective exploration
My work centers around somatic art—a gentle way of using drawing, mark-making, and reflection to support the nervous system, process emotions, and access inner wisdom.
This is not about creating perfect or “good” art.
It’s about listening to the body, allowing expression, and discovering what wants to emerge.
Through simple creative practices, we can:
- regulate and settle the nervous system
- explore emotions in a safe, non-verbal way
- gain clarity and insight
- reconnect with creativity and self-trust
- integrate experiences more fully
It draws from expressive arts, somatic practices, and depth-oriented approaches to personal growth.
Rather than following rigid steps or rules, somatic art invites:
curiosity over correctness process over outcome sensation over analysis
Each drawing becomes a living reflection of your inner landscape.
In our work together, I guide you through simple, accessible creative practices that may include:
- intuitive line drawing
- working with shape, color, and space
- visual journaling and reflection
- body-based awareness while creating
- gentle prompts for exploration
There is no right or wrong way to do this.
Instead, we focus on:
- noticing what arises
- staying connected to the body
- allowing meaning to unfold naturally
This work can be both deeply calming and surprisingly insightful.
No Experience is necessary. You don't need any special artistic talent or experience to try it out and start seeing positive changes in your life. If you can hold a pen, you can do Somatic Art.

I have taught somatic art in 2nd & 3rd grade classrooms, as well as for Girl Scout Troops.
Background:
My work is informed by my training as a somatic practitioner and my studies in creative and reflective drawing methods, including NeuroGraphica, Mindful Art Teacher Training, and various somatic art trainings.
Over time, I have expanded my approach into a broader somatic art practice that integrates nervous system awareness, creativity, and personal development.
Note:
NeuroGraphica® is a registered method developed by Pavel Piskarev.
My work is independently developed and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Institute of Creative Psychology.
